After my baby was finally asleep in my arms, I put her in her cot as skilfully and gently as I could. I count my blessings if I managed to put her in her cot successfully. But alas, just like clockwork, she woke up 20 minutes later. I barely had any rest throughout the day. Night wakings were common too.
A mom of two children, I understand how it’s like to be sleep-deprived and having lots of body aches from the constant carrying of baby to sleep.
Many people I spoke to (including my parents) told me this is part and parcel of motherhood, and that my baby will outgrow this phase. I asked myself: “How long more can I endure this - nap after nap, night after night?” I couldn’t imagine doing this every single day for weeks, months or even years. I wanted my children to be well rested so that they have the energy to play, feed, learn and sleep well. And that’s how we started our sleep training journey with Lavinia, a certified Sleep Sense consultant.
Through Lavinia’s clear guidance and dedicated support, I taught my children healthy sleep habits. Since then, they have been sleeping independently, taking long naps and sleeping through the night. Everyone at home is well rested and happy.
Passionate and a firm believer in sleep training, I decided to focus full-time on helping families sleep well. I believe that parenthood doesn’t mean sleep deprivation.
